ITYARN Research Forum

The ITYARN forum, sponsored by Drama Australia and the University of South Australia (UniSA),
will take place on the first day of the festival, Friday, May 9, and consist of a plenary session and 2-4 working groups.

Topicsof the Working groups will include but are not limited to:
1. Aesthetics of contemporary theatre in the field of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA)
2. Theories and histories of TYA
3. Reception processes in TYA
4. Child culture and cultural environment of TYA

The ITYARN forum will take place at the Education Development Centre, Milner Street, Hindmarsh, South Australia.

 ITYARN (International Theatre for Young Audience Research Network)
aims to advance critical inquiry in the field of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) through the exchange and discussion of papers from scholars in and outside of the field of TYA.

 For its Inaugural Research Forum the network received 29 proposals from 11 countries.
Titles of the plenary papers and abstracts of seminar papers will be posted on the ITYARN website January 2008.

 ITYARN is a collaboration between universities and ASSITEJ international to further research on theatre for young audiences (TYA) coordinated by Agder University (Norway), the University of Hildesheim (Germany), Arizona State University (USA) and the College of Letters and Science (University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA).
